Fresh 48 sessions are newborn sessions that take place during the first 2 days of the baby's life- the sooner the better! i know birth photography isn't for everyone, FRESH 48 sessions allow you to rest a bit after the birth of your newborn & still capture the precious first moments. It is a non-posed lifestyle session for those looking for something right after birth. for those authentic, organic moments of your growing family.
Why a Fresh 48 Session?
It captures the emotion of the birthing experience without the uneasiness of having the birth photographed. your baby will be changing so fast-hour by hour, day to day. capture those first moments; bonding, bathing, breastfeeding, meeting siblings & family members, first diaper changes, meeting the grandparents, going home from the hospital, or simply just gazing at one another! this session captures moments like these that will soon be lost in the fog of your "babymoon"! these are the photos your friends and family will be beggin for & you will treasure for a lifetime....and your baby will too!
So here is how it works...
- The fresh 48 Session takes place during daylight hours, within 48 hours of birth. The sooner the better! It takes place wehre the baby was born, either at the hospital or birth center. It will last approximately 60 minutes.
- last minute fresh 48 sessions will be considered but remember...having mary steere photography "on call" will ensure capturing this special time in your lives.
- the photography is un-posed & all poses are natural + organic, the focus is on story telling. we capture all the precious details of your new baby, as well as the bond between you, your family and the baby.
How is the Fresh 48 Session different than newborn photography?
our fresh 48 sessions capture your baby's true fresh self and all the bliss + joy you all feel that will be so evident in the photos. Newborn photography also takes place shortly after the birth (usually before the baby is 14 days old), rarely within the first day or two! Your fresh 48 session will happen right after the birth when those emotions are still high & everything brand new. There will be no props, studio lighting or baby posing!
A Fresh 48 Session is not meant to take the place of a newborn session.
These are two unique experiences offering two wonderful keepsakes from two different times in your family's life.
